Standard sizing — up two sizes, down three — runs four hours from drop-off to quality check. That includes sizing, refinishing the shank, and a rhodium pass if the piece calls for it. Shanks that need a full replacement get a new section soldered, filed, and polished to match the original gauge. No visible seam. No exceptions.

Prong Work & Pavé Reset
Prong re-tipping at the tolerance your stones demand.
Micro-pavé reset work runs to 0.3mm prong-tip tolerance — measured under 10× loupe, not estimated by eye. A prong that whistles under a fingernail is a liability. We re-tip to full bearing height, with the tip burnished to a radius that matches the original setting style: bright-cut, bead, or shared prong.
For estate pieces where the original prong style is no longer standard, we photograph the setting before and after, and return a written condition report with every job.

Fabricated rings hold dimensions that cast pieces cannot. When a client's grandmother's setting has a profile that no wax carver stocks, we draw the wire, form the shank, solder the head, and build the setting from scratch. The result is a piece that will last another generation.
We also handle overflow custom work for stores whose bench is backed up. Send us the specs — metal, gauge, stone dimensions, setting style — and we'll return a fabricated mounting ready for your setter.
